The Crew

Since opening our doors in 1994, the mission of the Caleb Meyer Studio has always been to provide a warm and inviting space in which to interact with wonderful handmade designs. We celebrate the creative process in everything we do here and we hope that you will immerse yourself in it. You are encouraged to pick up the pottery, glass and wood crafts in the gallery. As far as we’re concerned, to really appreciate a handmade piece, you have to hold it in your own hands.

Caleb’s own custom handmade gold and platinum jewelry is a magnificent expression of his creative vision and technical skill. His distinct and timeless style which has evolved over many years is at once classic and modern. You are invited to choose from among the many finished pieces on display in the studio. Or, if you prefer, you are welcome to take part in the creative process and have Caleb handcraft a custom piece for you. He and the other members of the Caleb Meyer Studio family are always eager to share their knowledge and love of their craft. When you visit, you’ll see them in the back of the shop working on their latest creations. You’ll be serenaded by the tap of hammers, the whirl of polishers and the blue flame of soldering torches that contribute to shop’s unique ambience. Please make yourself at home, enjoy the collections and ask lots of questions. That’s the best way for you to get to know the work of the Caleb Meyer Studio… and the people who create it.

Caleb Meyer Studio Staff:

Caleb Meyer

Designing and creating fine gold and platinum jewelry is in Caleb’s blood. In fact, his father James Meyer is a renowned custom gold jewelry maker in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Haverford College and taking courses at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Gemological Institute of America, Caleb apprenticed in his father shop where he mastered complex fabrication and forging techniques. It was during this apprenticeship that Caleb realized that goldsmithing allowed him to combine his love of creative design with his respect for skillful and meticulous technique.

Caleb’s designs readily draw on art, architecture and natural references. His unique creations impart a rare sense of balance and form to fine jewelry. He makes sure that even his most ornate and intricate designs are durable enough to be worn every day. He takes great pride in always pushing his superior technical skill to the next level and his ability to execute complex and challenging designs. He always welcomes the opportunity to share his vast knowledge of diamonds and colored gemstones with clients who want to create a unique custom piece.

Stephanie Richards

Stephanie has a long history with the talented Meyer Family. She was first introduced to American Craft when she worked for jewelry artist James Meyer, Caleb's father, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Since then her fascination for sculpted works and old-world craftsmanship has kept her in the art world.

Stephanie's extensive experience has given her an eye for impeccable craftsmanship and superior design. These qualities, partnered with her inherent organizational abilities made her a great fit for Caleb Meyer Studio. In 2004, she moved to Philadelphia and took on the responsibilities of Office and Gallery manager.

Stephanie was awarded the Graduate Gemologist Diploma (G.G.) from the Gemological Institute of America, (GIA.) This prestigious degree represents expertise in the identification and grading of diamonds and colored gemstones. Stephanie performs appraisals and is the shop's resident diamond grader.

Natalie Di Fulvio

Natalie graduated from The University of the Arts, under tutelage of Sharon Church, with a bachelor’s in Craft & Metalsmithing.

Natalie was introduced to focused technical skills from her first job as a jeweler, and realized that the conveyer-belt, mass-produced type of jewelry making left her feeling removed from the process. She wanted to learn more techniques and be a part of every aspect of creating jewelry. Creatively drawn by organic growth, cycles of nature and the allure of gemstones, Natalie sought out a more fulfilling creative process and landed at our door in late 2015.

On the bench, Natalie has a skilled eye, and a speed that does not sacrifice quality. She is learning new techniques every week and has been an outstanding addition to our creative team.

Eva Ziegler

Now, Eva Ziegler helps us out from afar. After moving to Huntsville, Alabama, she still fulfills all of our stringing needs, and she is our trusted go to with beaded necklace designs. We also carry her line of Eva Ziegler Jewelry, which features one of a kind necklaces and bracelets.
