The Workshop

A cornerstone of our work at Caleb Meyer involves taking ideas for special, one-of-a-kind pieces from inspiration to wearable reality. With our colorful and appealing selection of loose gemstones as a starting point, we utilize our years of design and fabrication experience as well as our artistic sensibilities to create heirloom-quality fine jewelry to delight the wearer. The custom design process usually begins with a conversation, either in-person or via e-mail. This is an opportunity for clients to share ideas, hopes and other details relevant to the project. Once stones have been selected and other design decisions have been established, we may provide sketches for your approval. While many clients visit the shop in person and enjoy the one-on-one consultative aspect of the process, this can certainly be done via e-mail. Ultimately, geographic distance from Philadelphia should not be viewed as an obstacle to working with Caleb Meyer Studio. Once the custom design is approved, we ask for a 20% “good faith” deposit before we begin working on your piece. This deposit is fully refundable, should the finished piece not live up to your expectations. Once the deposit has been made, it is typically a 6-8 week turnaround for most pieces. This can vary depending on the season, and we will of course do our absolute best to meet any special time constraints you may have. When your piece is finished, you may pick it up in person at the shop, or we can insure and ship it as per your instructions. Either way, we are excited for you to receive and enjoy your new custom jewelry.
